Tan My Design will be a new shopping concept for Hanoi. With over 800 sq metres of retail space , it will be a small shopping emporium, selling both the best of Vietnam alongside international products. Tan My Design will introduce a new range of more modern and contemporary Tan My products and also introduce their partners, who share the same values of high quality, value and service.
Some of these partners will be: Victoria Roe – exciting new English Fashion designer - Pascal Dang – is internationally famous Vietnamese Interior Decorator based in USA Chartage – Belgian designed fashion jewellery and accessories -Blanco Levrin / Casa d’Oriental – My An and Ricardo are well known Vietnamese/Italian fashion label - Grace – is a well known Japanese/Vietnamese fashion label - Vo Phan Huy and Ha Truong – talented young Vietnamese designers Background The business of Tan My grew out of the very difficult years of war in Vietnam. Madam Bach, mother of Huong, the current proprietor, started embroidery on pillow cases. During the war years she also embroidered messages from loved ones on handkerchiefs, which the soldiers carried with them throughout the war. And so the story of Tan My began. Named after her two eldest sons, the business commenced in 1969, in a small shop in Hang Gai, in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter. There is only one Tan My outlet, now at 66 Hang Gai, which is now run by Huong and her daughter Thuy Linh, making 3 generations involved in the business. The distinctive quality of Tan My products is that all the embroidery is done by hand, by highly skilled teams, who work exclusively for Tan My, to ensure that the highest quality is maintained. Over the years , as Huong has developed the business, it has expanded its range of products, but always with the emphasis on hand embroidery, to include home ware, bed linen, clothing, accessories and artworks. Tan My Design – which is at 61 Hang Gai, and occupy 61-65 Hang Gai. It will be a new shopping concept for Hanoi. With over 700 sq metres of retail space - it will be a small shopping emporium. Tan My Design will introduce a new range of more modern and contemporary Tan My products and also introduce our partners, who share our values of high quality, value and service. Our staff will be trained by each of the partners about their products – from fashion clothing, jewellery and accessories, to home wear. Tan My Design will also have a modern and spacious cafe – to open in March – which will feature real espresso coffee and delicious snacks, and will show the work of a number of Hanoi’s most famous artists. Art work will be available for sale at the cafe. We want the cafe to the meeting place for friends, shoppers and visitors – where our staff can give advice and information about places to shop, and eat – and just to relax.
